Big Give’s Green Match Fund - in partnership with Environmental Funders Network - gives charities working on pressing environmental issues the chance to have donations DOUBLED for seven days, starting on #WorldEarthDay.

ABOUT THE FUND

The climate crisis demands urgent action. Each of the last three decades has been hotter than the last, with the seven warmest years on record occurring between 2015 and 2021. The campaign is committed to amplifying the impact of every donation, doubling the difference for global efforts to protect and preserve our planet.

WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY:

  • Access funding: 74% of Big Give’s charity partners report receiving more donations through match funding than any comparable fundraising.
  • Expand your donor base: 95% of charities report receiving donations from new supporters during the campaign.
  • Grow your skills: 86% of participating charities said they increased their confidence in digital fundraising after participating in a Big Give campaign.
  • Strengthen relationships: 91% of charities develop relationships with new supporters and 96% report the campaign helps strengthen bonds with existing supporters.

 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Green Match Fund utilises a multi model of match funding. Environmental charities apply to Big Give and can select either the 1:1 or pledge model of match funding. Their application is assessed by Big Give and its partners, the Environmental Funders Network.

Successful charities are awarded a sum of match funding which is ring-fenced for their organisation. This match funding is unlocked by public donations given through Big Give’s online fundraising platform during the week of the campaign.

 

The deadline for applications is Friday 17 January 2025.
